Meet Chris Bell, biosecurity officer, and tell us what you thing about creating a biosecurity plan to help protect the wildlife of Rousay, Wyre and Egilsay at Rousay Community Room on Wednesday 15 December 2021

UPDATE Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre; Shape the Future of Native Wildlife NOW ONLINE

This event will go ahead as planned this Wednesday 15 December at 7.30pm, and now held online via Microsoft Teams. We will no longer meet in person at the Rousay community room. We’ve made this decision in light of the changing picture of public health safety around the Covid variant. Here is the link to the meeting https://bit.ly/3s2EqPV for tomorrow. We will discuss island leadership in creating a biosecurity plan to safeguard native wildlife. The more voices heard the better - Your contribution will be highly valued and appreciated.

Please email info@onwp.org or phone 07548 152150 for any questions or details.

Everyone is welcome to come to share their views on creating a plan to help protect the islands' special wildlife. It is also a chance to hear first-hand about how the project is doing.

Biosecurity planning to prevent the spread of invasive non-native species, such as stoats, is a key to help the native wildlife of the isles. Stoats can swim up to three kilometres and so the isles are at risk from a possible stoat incursion. Chris is keen to hear your views on what type of biosecurity plan will be useful for Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre and how that partnership could look.

Look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions then please contact us info@onwp.org
